"A war combination against a single State is a crime. But defence against a probable aggressor is the highest moral duty." He advocated that Britain and France should approach the smaller Powers to form an anti-aggression bloc.

When proposing Mr. J. N. Boddie as chairman of the Waitomo Power Board on Monday, Mr. E. T. Gorton referred to the fact that Mr. Boddie had been a member of the Board since its inception. In returning thanks for his election, Mr. Boddie said that, besides having been a member of the Board during the whole period of its existence, he and Mr. Lee had been on the Committee that Worked for the formation of the Board. The Board had passed through many difficulties, but under the chairmanship of Mr. Lee it had pulled through and was now in a very good position.
