KITCHENCRAFT.
FOR THE BACK OP YOUR COOKERY BOOK. To lubricate the bearings of an eggbeater, or food mincer, use glycerine. It does not affect the flavour of the food. When the handle of an aluminium saucepan breaks off cut away the upper part of the saucepan, to clear the hole, and a good cake tin will be added to the kitchen equipment. To clean a burned enamel dish fill it with cold water, and a large tablespoonful of salt and allow it to stand for an hour or so. To cut new bread first dip the knife in boiling water. The knobs from the drawer of your ki'chen table can be removed and a short towel rail fixed there instead. This will prove quite useful for hanging teacloths upon and it will also serve as a drawer handle.
