WOMEN'S INSTITUTE
HANGATIKI BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Hangatiki branch of the Women's Institute was held last week, the president, Mrs. Pettigrew, presiding. The meeting opened with the reading of the Creed, and singing of the Ode of Friendship. The usual business was transacted, and the report of the King Country Federation was read by the president. Talks on what to do in the garden this month —as a Roll Call—were helpful. In the absence of the demonstrators, a social afternoon was enjoyed, and a beautiful silk bedspread of Indian Bokhara work, belonging to a member, was greatly admired. A refreshing afternoon tea was handed round by the hostesses, Mesdames B. and S. Board, and the meeting closed with "God Save the King."
