Nurse Lusk, of the Te Kuiti Hospital, leaves to-morrow to spend her annual leave in Auckland.

Miss C. Hine, who. has been spending a holiday in Feiding and Wanganui, has returned home. Mr. Bluett,- who is to. succeed Mr. A. C. Yorke as district representative .of the Vacuum Oil Proprietary Co., •Ltd., has arrived in Te Kuiti.

Advice has been received that a son has been born to Mrs. Hunter Smart (nee Miss Joan Irvine). ; Miss Margaret Wright, of the staff of the New Plymouth Hospital, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Wright. • Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Porter, Haerehuka Street, Otorohanga, announce the engagement of their second daughter, Nellie, to Victor Carl Williams, eldest son of Mrs. E. Garrett, i Radnor Street, Hamilton. . An enjoyable bridge afternoon was held at the residence of Mrs. A. D. McLennan yesterday afternoon to farewell Mrs. A. C. Yorke, who leaves shortly to take up her. residence in Christchurch. Mrs. Yorke was presented, with a crystal sweet dish by the ladies present. Cr. K. W. Low was appointed on Monday evening the representative of the Borough Council on the Auckland Centennial Exhibition Committee. The Committee is to arrange the Auckland Provincial Court at the Centennial Exhibition in 1940. The Mayor, Mr. T. Carroll, is the representative of the Council on the Committee to arrange the celebrations in the Province,
