AMATEUR ATHLETICS
EVENING MEETINGS COMMENCE. The first of the Te Kuiti Amateur Athletic Club’s evening meetings will be held at the Domain on Wednesday evening at 6 o’clock. There will be four open events, 100 yards and 440 yards flat races, four-lap and six-lap cycle events, and a shot-putting competition, besides a running event and a cycle event for schoolboys. Entries will be received on the ground for all events. Officials for the evening will be as follows: Handicappers, Messrs. J. H. Irvine and H. Krogh; judges, Messrs. Seeker and O’Connell; starter, Mr. D. P. Deere; marksmen, Messrs. B. J. Drake, C. Dallaston, A. Allen, C. M. Davies; supervisor, Mr. M. J. Strange. All officals are asked to be on the ground not later than 15 minutes before the first event, and any official unable to attend is requested to advise the Secretary in good time. Handsome trophies are being awarded on a points basis for the season’s meetings and competition promises to be very keen.
