1 . ■ > BOUT FOR TE KUITI. Followers of boxing will learn with satisfaction that the Te Kuiti Boxing Association have successfully concluded negotiations which will result in the appearance in the local ring on March 6, of two of the best boxers at present in New Zealand. A piofessional contest of 12 rounds has been arranged by the fast improving Hawke’s Bay lightweight boxer, Al. Stock, and the recently arrived Australian pugilist, Billy Martin. ’Stock is well known to all boxing fans and he made a great impression in his recent: Auckland bout when he lost a very close decision to the Filipino champion, Gildo, whom he meets in a return bout on Monday. The Australian, Martin, has a record of 169 professional contests with only four defeats. He is only 22 years of age and has beaten every State champion in his. division in-Australia. His main claim to vfame is- the great bout he put up against Jack Carrol, the Australian champion, who is rated by competent judges as the world’s best welterweight. Al. Stock is only 21 years of age, so a willing encounter is sure to result from the meeting of two young and well.performed boxers, both seeking fistic fame and fortune.
