DRIVING OVER FIRE HOSE
THREE MOTORISTS CONVICTED. ON OCCASION OF B. AND A.’s FIRE For driving over fire hoses on the occasion of the Barraud and Abraham fire, three motorists were fined in the Magistrate’s Court this morning by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M. The charge was of driving without due care and attention. Constable Wilson related how he had endeavoured to warn the defendants, but they had proceeed over the fire hoses which were then in operation. Herbert Fletcher was fined 10s and costs for driving without due care and attention, and 5s and costs for his vehicle having no tail-light; Aubrey Haines, 20s and costs for driving without due care and attention; and John Reeve, 20s and costs for driving without due care and attention, and 5s for his car not being equipped with a tail-light. Vincent Spinetto was fined 10s and costs as a result of his lorry not being equipped with a tail-light.
