Mrs.' Wei don, of Te Kuiti, is at present visiting friends in Opotiki.
Miss Mabel Brabyn, of New Plymouth, is the guest of her uncle, Rev. W. T.JBrabyn, the Manse.
Mrs. Seeker, senior, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Seeker, Te Kuiti.
Mrs. Zobel has returned to Te Kuiti from a visit to Canada and the United States.
Mr. and Mrs. T. M. O'Connell left this morning on a holiday to be spent at Tauranga.
The engagement is announced of Mavis, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Needham, Mangapehi, to William Edwin, only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Flowers, Whakatane.
Among the teachers' appointments authorised at the meeting of the Auckland Education .Board were the following: Miss D. M. Burgess as assistant mistress at the, Te Kuiti High School: Miss T. C. Empson to the Waimiha School; Miss I. L. Mckenzie as assistant mistress at the Otorohahga School, and Miss M. Browne as infant mistress at the same school; and Mr. A. S. Harper as head teacher at Waimiha.
