UNIFORMS FOR THE BAND.
(To the Editor)
Sir, Your correspondent “Music Lover,” who, with pardonable modesty disclaims being a musical critic, has, I think, not done so badly, and I blush to think what that person might have said were he or she a real critic. Personally, I was absent on that particular evening to which your correspondent refers and'l did not need to be present to endorse those remarks appertaining to the “Band.” Many citizens erroneously congratulated me for something I did not start, namely, this correspondence, and after considering the number of requests from interested people for information bearing on the matter, it is probable I will accede and In the near future give some facts which should make, to say the least, food for thought. I may say, in conclusion, that I have already given sound reasons to different members of the executive (because they have approached me periodically to rejoin the “Band”) as to why I and my sons remain outside. — I am, etc., ROBERT D. LEE.
