OPERATIONS FOR 1935-36. THE ANNUAL REPORT. “During the year 210 tons 18 cwts 2 qrs 201bs of butter were manufactured, being a decrease of 10 cwts 2 qrs lib compared with last year,” stated the annual report of the Aria Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, which is at present in the hands of the suppliers and will be presented at the annual meeting on Saturday next. The balance of £llO7 19s 3d (which was likely to be increased through higher realisations than estimated) would be distributed as realisations came to hand.

The plant had been maintained in good order and condition. All buildings were being painted. Exchange on export butter amounted to £3452 12s Id, equal to 2.138 d per lb. butterfat. compared with 1.958 d per lb. last year. Costs showed a decrease of .088 d per lb. as compared with last year. Despite new advances, suppliers' accounts showed an improvement of £444 13s Bd, compared with last year, and a further improvement had been shown since the date of balance. During the year a successful social was held to celebrate the Company’s 25th birthday. The directors retiring by rotation were Messrs. Collins, Keighley and Moore. Nominations had already been called to fill the three vacancies.

The number of suppliers had increased from 106 in 1934-35 to 112 for the 1935-36 season.
