THE OLYMPIC GAMES
COMPETITORS NUMBER 3500. ELABORATE GERMAN PREPARATIONS. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 11.10 a.m.) London, May 13. An Olympic official visiting London told the Associated Press that 53 nations were' sending 5300 athletes to Berlin. The few declining the invitations included Palestine, which replied that its athletes had not yet reached the Olympic standard. The German team number about 460 and will be the largest, with America's 400 probably the next. The German Ministry of Finance has relaxed the foreign exchange restrictions to enable the importation of foreign food. In addition to a German officer being attached to each team as an assistant, there will be an official attache to each team acting on behalf of the organising committee, who will as far as possible be of the same nationality. All the British Empire teams will be grouped in the same section of the Olympic village.
