STOCK SALES

TE KUITI. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual fortnightly stock sale at the Te Kuiti saleyards on Friday, February 21st. A large yarding of both sheep and cattle was offered to an attendance of local buyers. Prices for good quality ewes were quite firm on recent sales, but aged and cull ewes were again easier of sale. Fat and store wethers were penned in_ good numbers and these met with a ready market at prices above recent quotations. Lambs were not keenly competed for and values showed a drop of Is to Is 6d per head. Cattle remained firm at late rates. TE KUITI AND PIO PIO SALES.

Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Te Kuiti, report having held their usual sales at Pio Pio on Thursday, and at Te Kuiti on Friday. At Pio Pio there was a small yarding of sheep, consisting of wethers and store lambs. There was a ready demand for all lines offered and a total clearance was made. A few odd lines of cattle were penned and these sold at recent ruling rates.

At Te Kuiti sheep came forward in excess of advertised numbers, a good entry of wethers, ewes and lambs being yarded. There was a good attendance of local and outside buyers, and practically everything was cleared at auction. The market for ewes and wethers was firmer, while lambs sold at recent ruling rates.
