EVENING SPORTS
RESULTS OF EVENTS. Very close finishes were witnessed in the two principal running events at the Te Kuiti Sports Club’s evening meeting on Wednesday. The struggle between Jackson and Elliott for first place in the 880 yards was' a "particularly keen one, while in the 100 yards the field was bunched for the finish. The following were the results of the 100 Yards: Hogan (scr.) 1, Stranger (4yds.) 2, Pocock (6yds.) 3. JMile: Jackson (15yds.) 1, Elliott (20yds) 2, Collins (50yds) 3. 'y 2 Mile Cycle: Paterson 1, Irvine 2, McCormack 3. Only starters. Boys’ Cycle: Powdrill l f Brown 2, George 3. The meeting concluded with a Committeeman’s Dash Handicap over 50 yards, which resulted: Krogh (2yds.) 1, Strange (scr.) 2, Pankhurst (Byds.) 3.
