Owing to the number of late frosts feed is rather short in the district for this time of the year. The shortage is by no means acute, but the frosts experienced have been fairly heavy and have retarded growth to quite a fair extent. Though they are still being experienced, the slightly warmer weather of the past few days has resulted in some improvement. As it is, cows generally appear to have come in a little later than expected.
