CHALLENGE TO "JOHN BULL."

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Prom amongst the effusive peroration indulged in by "John Bull" in your issue of September 12, I take very strong exception to his derogatory remarks concerning the Douglas Social Credit constructive policy of economic rehabilitation which is engaging the attention of all advanced thought throughout the four quarters of the world. The Press and magazine news received here from abroad quite substantiates this statement, also the results of the Alberta election in Canada. Quite a remarkable coincidence with "John Bull's" effort, in the Press of September 12th is the disgraceful outburst in the Parliament House of the Hon. S. G. Smith, Minister of Unemployment who attacked the clergy (including Archbishop Averill) for conducting a meeting of protest in Auckland. If John Bull desires to further malign the Te Kuiti branch members of the Social Credit Movement or attack Douglasism itself I

would suggest that he does it from the public platform, for, perhaps he has a constructive policy to present in its place to the Social Credit Movement.—l am, etc., DIGIT.
