R.S.A. BALL
AT NIARAKOPA. V The Kawhia South branch of the R.S.A. held their annual ball at Marakopa on the 12th instant. Mr. and Mrs. E. Mosley were the host and hostess, and with Mr. D. Leslie, the energetic secretary, and a band of workers, the function was as usual as marked success, being a crowded hall of gay dancers abandoned to enjoyment. Decorations took the form Of red, white and blue streamers artfully worked into canopy forming a Union Jack, the walls being treated with riikau palms and bunting. Pat O’Rourke’s band supplied tuneful music and kept up a verve of dancing spirit to the end, at which the assembly joined in the National Anthem. Extras were played by Mesdames E. Phillips and A. Reed. Messrs. E. Mosley, M. Coutts and N. Hunter as M.C.’s left nothing to be desired.
