DUBLIN BOMB OUTRAGE

ATTEMPT TO WRECK CINEMA. . WHEN JUBILEE FILMS SHOWN. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 12.20 p.m.) Dublin, May 13 A bomb thrown at midnight from a passing motor car into the entrance of a suburban cinema which was showing a news reel of Their Majesties and the Prince of Wales, smashed the glass and did other damage. The gates of the Dublin Police Court were barred during the hearing of a case in which James Fullerton and another man, who refused to give his name, were charged with assaulting the police. The evidence showed that the men were posting leaflets signed by the Republican Safety Committee, declaring that it would be provocative of grave disorder if Jubilee films were exhibited in Ireland. They resisted arrest, but were quietened after the policemen fired shots in the air. The Magistrate at first sentenced the men to two months, but when they persisted in shouting "Up with the Republic," the sentence was increased to six months.
