WATER SUPPLY.

i(To the Editor). Sir, —Every summer for years past there has been a notice in your paper prohibiting the use of garden hoses, and the water supply to houses on the higher levels has been reduced to the merest dribble. Why should this be? There is ample water in the district, we have a Borough Engineer, plenty of surplus labour available, and a consuming public who, I am sure, are quite prepared to pay for an adequate water supply. Personally, I would far sooner pay a rate of twopence for an ample supply, than our present rate of one penny and practically no water. —I am, etc., - RORA.
