THE DAIRY REGULATIONS.

(To the Editor)

Sir, —I have been waiting to see what the farmers of the Te Kuiti district are going to do in this matter, but up to the present time they are doing nothing, while most of ,the other farming districts are holding meetings of protest against the enforcement of these unnecessary regulations. I believe that there is a convener appointed to call a meeting of suppliers, to discuss matters of importance to the industry. If that is so, then it is up to him to call a meeting and get the opinion of the farmers on this all important subject, which, in my opinion, is the first step to banish the small struggling farmer off the land. The Commission has not carried out its duty, which was to find a solution to the beggarly price we are getting for our produce on the English market. They ignored that aspect of the position, and brought down instead a whole lot of unnecessary so-called improvements involving a great expense to the man who cannot afford it. I feel certain that a large number of the farmers of this district would like an opportunity to express their views. So if there is a convener for the district it is time something was done. Thanking you for your valuabe space.—l am, etc., WEE COCKIE.
