CAT-AND-DOG LOVE.
DOG KILLED: CAT DIES OF GRIEF. ' The double tragedy of a dog being killed by a motor-car and its inseparable companion, a cat, dying from a broken heart occurred recently at Combe Martin, Devon, England. The dog, Viv, a joyous rough-haired terrier, and the cat, Dinkie, a pretty tabby, were born about the same time five years ago, and came into the possession of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hancock, of Combe Martin. They quickly became firm friends. They had their meals and frolicked in the garden together, and slept in the same basket. Dinkie would often leave half of her milk for Vic, and the latter always shared dainty morsels with his friend. When Vic was killed, Dinkie refused to be comforted, and for three days would take nothing to drink or eat. Then she was found dead on the doorstep. Now they are resting in the same grave.
