(Own Correspondent.) Parents' Day was held at the Consolidated School last Wednesday, March 9th, when the school was open for inspection. A large number of parents were present, including Mr. Coyle (chairman) and members of the committee. Great interest was shown in the experimental plots, which came in for much praise.

Miss Potts, the cooking instructress, and the girls in her charge from the High School and Standards V and VI, spent the morning in making many dainty things for afternoon tea, which were much enjoyed. Mesdames Coyle, Cullen and Andrews also assisted with the dispensing of tea. It was a pleasure to see everything so beautifully kept. Mr. Webster's kindly thought in deputing the High School girls to take charge of the babies whilst the mothers had tea, was much appreciated by them. A meeting of the Pio Pio branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers' "Union was held in the Rest Room on Friday, March 11th. The president* Mrs. C. Jackson, presided. Interesting correspondence was read from headquarters, especially that which referred to the use of laminated wool in place of kapok. Wool growers would benefit by its use, and less money would be sent out of the country for imported kapok. The annual meeting of the W.D. F.U. is to be held in the Town Hall on sale day, April 7th, at 11 o'clock. Tea will be served in the Rest Room afterwards.
