MOTOR COLLISION
ACCIDENT ON AWAKINO ROAD. An accident which might have been fraught with more serious consequences .occurred on the Awakino Road, about, the 9-mile, yesterday about 8.45 a.m., when a car driven by Mr. A. Thomson, of Wellington, came into collision with a Campbell Motors service car driven by Mr. L. Meredith. The accident occurred on a low stretch of the road where there was a fairly dense fog. The cars hit each other on the side, tearing away the mudguards, both being considerably damaged. There were only two passengers in the service car, one of whom, Mr. B. Harker, sustained minor injuries to his arm.
CAR OVER BANK.
YOUNG MAN INJURED.
As a young man, Russell Cleaver, son of Mr. H. H. Cleaver, of Troopei's' Road, was driving along the Mairoa Road on Sunday night, the car left the road and went over the bank, the driver being crushed and suffering from shock.The young man was taken to the Hamilton Hospital, where he is reported to be progressing favourably. The car was badly damaged.
