Measures which have bee'n taken to reduce the likelihood of an outbreak of infantile paralysis in the future were outlined by Dr. M. H. Watt, Director-General of Health, at a meeting of the Board of Health in Wellington recently. Dr. Watt pointed out that while there was no fixed periodicity for the disease, its past incidence suggested that there might be an outbreak within the next year or two.
