CRICKET ASSOCIATION

MEETING LAST NIGHT. A meeting of the ManiapotoCricket Association was held last night, when the following members were present: Mr. N. B. Lusk, President, 1). Rogers, Secretary, J. Hine. 11. E. Martin, F. Liddell, and D. Davidson.

A letter was received from Waipa Association offering to meet Maniapolo at Te Awnmutu on Easier Monday in a match for the South Auckland Shield. It was resolved to reply regretting Easter Monday was unsuitable. and offering Easter Saturday instead. A further communication was read from Taumarunui Association suggesting a week-end match to be played at Te Kuiti in recompense for the abandoned match due to inclement Weather on January 29th. After some discussion it was resolved to inform Taumarunui that the Saturday after Easter might be found a suitable date for this, match, but the date could not be definitely determined until the match with Waipa has been played. A letter was received from Rotorua Association finalising arrangements for the week-end game with the Hot Lakes team, in accordance with which a team left Te Kuiti. this morning for Rotorua by motor transport, for which the Association made a suitable grant. Mr. H. E. Marlin was appointed manager of the touring team and Mr. J. Hine, treasurer. The question of a suitable ground for next season was considered, the president explaining that he was in touch with the Rugby Union officials on the matter.
