NEW BROADCASTING BILL. BEFORE COMMONWEALTH PARLIAMENT. (Press Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.45 a.m.) Canberra, this day. The Bill for the control of broadcasting was introduced in the House of Representatives and sets up a commission of five, including a chairman with a salary of £SOO per year, who will be empowered to appoint his own general manager and other staff, which will be responsible for all aspects, of broadcasting of programmes and the establishment of agencies for the collection of suitable news and permitting the publication of magazines; also the development of local talent and better organisation of a national orchestra.
