LOVE PHILOSOPHY
MAYBE RIGHT—AND MAYBE
WRONG.
Ib's time to buy the crepe and the lilies for love when a man stops coaxing a girl to kiss him and begins permitting her to kiss him. * * * *
Many a man's first wife has saved enough money, by doing her own house-work and cutting out the beauty parlour, to enable him to buy pearls and orchids for her younger and prettier successor.
The practice of " petting " is merely a result of the low rate of pres-ent-day intelligence. When a man starts right in to get slushy, it is either because he is too stupid to think of anything else or because the girl is such a dumbbell that she wouldn't understand anything else.
The " best man" at a wedding (from his own point of view) is the one who just narrowly escaped being the bridegroom. * * * *
Men will always make foolish blunders in choosing a wife, so long as the women they enjoy going out with are so often the kind that they'd hate to come home to.
Most women who have everything they want in life seem to have so many things that they don't want — including avoirdupois, nerves, dull husbands, indigestion, and divorce scandals.
A pessimist is a man who lives in the eternal suspicion that every woman is trying to catch him. An optimist is one who thinks that no woman can catch him. A fatalist is one who knows that some day, some woman will catch him and cheerfully resigns himself to the inevitable. ' # * * *
Lots of intelligent modern women still believe in a personal devil—because they have a secret conviction that they married him. * * * *
Love, like chicken salad, must be taken with blind faith—or it loses all its flavour.
