MYSTERY OF SEX
GIRL OF 14 DECLARED TO BE A BOY.
A Sussex girl of 14 has suddenly changed her sex, specialists declaring that she is really a boy.
The pai-ents have applied to Somerset House for permission-to alter the sex given on the birth certificate and change the child's name from Margery to Maurice. "I cannot think of my baby as a boy even now," the child's mother told a Daily Mail reporter. The first indication of the girl's real sex was given when her voice broke a few months ago. She was then attending a girl's school. " The school doctor examined her," said her mother, " and a specialist was consulted. It was decided to take her away from school at once, and since then she has worked as a servant.
"The discovery came as a shock to us. Margerv's voice became very gruff and she hated speaking to anyone. She never spoke unless she could help it. I have sent her away now to my sister till sh£ can be dressed as a boy."
