HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:—At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday, the 29th ult., we had a medium yarding of fat and store sheep. Competition on prime fat wethers was good and late rates were maintained. The majority of the yarding, however, comprised fat ewes which were not so keenly sought after and prices were slightly easier. An average yarding of fat hoggets come forward with values at late quotations. Spring lambs were also yarded in larger numbers, late rates being maintained. The advertised line of hoggets from the West Coast met with good competition and changed hands at satisfactory prices. . Ox and cow beef was penned in smaller numbers, T)ut the quality of the ox was better for which prices showed a slight increase. There was also a slight improvement in good quality young cows and heifers, while ordinary cow beef sold at last week's quotations. The advertised yarding of fat and store pigs came forward, 275 pigs being sold. Prices for baconers were a shade easier than last week, while stores and weaners snowed a slight advance on last week's quotations. We quote: —

CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report on their tri-weekly stock sale held at Cambridge on Monday last as follows: Values for an average yarding of fat and store cattle remained firm at late quotations. A heavy yarding of good quality early dairy cattle was offered and disposed of at very satisfactory prices. There was about the usual number of pigs offered, which met with a fair market. Fat cows made from £3 10s to £4 17s 6d; lighter do, £2 to £2 7s 6d; best quality dairv cows close to profit made from £9 10s to £ll 15s; later do, £7 15s to £9 ss; more backward and poorer sorts £4 10s to £6 15s; dairy heifers close to profit, £8 15s to £lO 10s; more backward do, £7 5s to £8 10s; later do, £6 to £7; store pigs £1 3s 6d to £1 5s 6d; smaller stores £1 Is to £1 3s; slips 17s to £1 Is; weaners 13s to 16s 6d.

WESTFIELD SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale of fat stock at Westfield on Wednesday, 30th September, as under:—

Beef.—Ox beef came forward in under average numbers, for which there was an improved demand and a brisk sale resulted at advanced rates. Cow and heifer beef was penned in about usual numbers, and here also values advanced on latr rates, improving as the sale progressed. Extra choice ox sold to 30s. per lOOlbs; choice and prime ox 27s to 295; secondary and plain, 24s to 265; prime young cow and heifer beef 26s to 28s; just killable, 23s to 255; extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l2 2s 6d to £l2 17s 6d, sold on account of Mr. H. Reed. Heavy prime steers £ll 5s to £l2; lighter £9 17s 6d to £ll 2s 6d; light £7 10s to £9 15s; small and unfinished £5 to £7 ss; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £9 15s to £lO 10s; heavy £8 15s to £9 12s 6d; lighter £7 2s 6d to £8 12s 6d. Other killable cows £3 to £5 15s. Truck of extra prime heavy young cows and heifers, sold on account of Mr. Harold Windsor, realised the satisfactory average of £9 6s 3d.

Sheep.—The offering of sheep was again a large 'one, with the major portion of the offering comprising plain and unfinished lines. A steady demanded resulted in values being fully equal to late rates. Heavy hoggets made to 16s 9d; medium from 12s to 13s 6'd; light from 8s 6d to lis 9d; extra heavy prime wethers 20s 3d; heavy prime 19s to 20s; medium 16s 6d to 18s 9d; light and unfinished 14s to 16s 3d; heavy prime ewes 13s 3d to 15s 6d; lighter 12s to 13s; other ewes lis 6d to lis 9d.

Lambs.—Spring lambs are now coming forward in good supply and find a ready sale at values well up to late rates. Medium made from 16s to 18s; light from 12s 6d to 15s 9d. Calves were yarded in smaller numbers than last week. All good quality calves were in demand and sold readily at prices a little above last week's quotations. Runners realised from £2 15s to £5 14s; heavy vealers £3 10s to £4 3s; medium £2 17s to £3 9s; light £2 5s to £2 16s; small £1 5s to £1 13s; rough 12s to £1; bobby calves Is to 4s. Pigs.—A small yarding was offered and met with keen competition. All classes sold steadily at fully late rates. Choppers made up to £3 13s; heavy baconers £3 3s to £3 7s; medium £2 18s to £3; light £2 10s to £2 17s; heavy porkers £2 8s to £2 12s; medium £2 4s to £2 7s; light £1 18s to £2 3s.

LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house dated 30th ult.:— The wool sales continue active, but merinos not quite highest point of series. Crossbreds strong demand, any change in price in favour of sellers.
