This week's issue of the N.Z. Sporting and Dramatic Review contains many features exclusive to this up-to-date publication which will be of particular interest, to the sportsman who with the event of the Spring Racing Carnivals is very intent on racing form. The Spartan contests at the Avondale Jockey Club's meeting are illustrated in an animated series. The coloured supplement of an anxious moment during the jumping at the Wanganui meeting is one of which the proprietors should be deservedly proud so well is the spirit of the turf depicted. In the centre double pages a display of snaps appear of the Pakuranga Hunt Club's annual Point-to-Point Meeting at Tamaki amidst most picturesque surroundings. Important overseas events occupy a large portion of the illustration space: Town criers' contest, international motor boat races, U.S. lawn tennis championships, refloating British battleship, the Graf Zeppelin, London by night and survivors of the submarine Poseidon. The England v. N.Z. cricket Test final is the subject of a very fine page of views, and for footballers appears a series of prints of the Auckland v. Northland League match. The frontispiece of the stage favourite, Ina Clairs, a page of piquant humour and a variety of stage and screen studies adds a very bright and attractive touch. Dominion happenings of note have also been pictorially recorded. The Review is on sale at all booksellers and stationers.
