CANADIAN UNEMPLOYED

ULTIMATUM TO PARLIAMENT. CAMPING IN BUILDING. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 11.45 a.m.) Winnipeg, September 23. Without food for days, nineteen destitute families including forty children, invaded the Provincial Parliament Buildings, declaring they would camp there until the Government recognised their needs. One hundred and fifty unemployed were picketed outside to prevent ejection of the families, who have been here less than a year and therefore not eligible for city relief. Mr. W. R. Clubb, Public Works Minister, agreed to let them remain until the social agencies could arrange shelter for them, whereupon the chamber was immediately filled with other unemployed dragging mattresses and bed clothes.
