REAR LAMP HINT.
Where rear lamps of the single-pole earth return type are fitted to luggage grids it may be found that a defective contact can be caused in one or two ways, either by rust forming in the hinges of the grid, or, if the hinges are oiled, by the oil itself acting as an insulator. The safe course to adopt, therefore, is to provide a separate earth wire from the rear lamp and to secure the other end direct to the chassis in a manner which ensures proper electrical contact.
