It will be a surprise to many to know that the largest individual wheat farm in New Zealand is situated 15 miles from Wanganui, at Ratana. This was stated as a fact at a meeting of the Wanganui Chamber of Commerce. The area planted in wheat at Ratana is approximately 800 acres.
