NO CRIME CASES
AT P.N. SUPREME COURT.
JUDGE'S CONGRATULATIONS.
Palmerston N., this day
The quarterly session of the Supreme Court opened before Mr. Justice Kennedy. As there were no criminal cases the grand jury, by direction of His Honour, was not required to attend, and the. registrar presented His Honour with a pair of white gloves in token of there beingno criminal charges. His Honour, in reply, stated that it was not absolute proof that there was no crime in the district because those who had previously pleaded guilty had been committed for sentence at Wellington.
The people of the district were to be congratulated that there were no unadmitted charges of crime to be dealt with.
