SOMNAMBULIST'S DEED

KILLED STEPBROTHER IN THE NIGHT. Michael Filosa, aged 28, while in his sleep, killed his 16-year-old stepbrother, Salvatore de Hall, and seriously wounded his mother, Mrs. Anna de Hall, aged 49, and his stepsister j Catherine, aged 14, with a razor at their home in Carlton Avenue, Brooklyn, U.S.A.

It is believed to be the strangest case of somnambulism on record. Filosa is a sailor who has recently been out of work. Members of the family say that he always showed affection for them, especially for Salvatore, and provided the family with money when ' he had a job.

When arrested he said, "I don't know what happened. I was asleep, and maybe crazy. I woke up and blood was everywhere. I don't know what happened." The police are holding him on a charge of murder.
