In these sunny days the question of man's attire again comes into the ! foreground. News has been received of the activities of a dress reform party in England, with headquarters in Bedford Square, London, and the platform of the new organisation makes interesting reading. One member, a physician, makes a slashing attack on the dress suit, which he condemns as uncomfortable and unhygienic. "The ballroom and dining hall," he states, "accept a standard of uncleanliness that would not be tolerated on the tennis court or cricket ground. What is needed in evening attire is a suit that will be as easily washable as a pair of flannel trousers," In everyday wear the vest, or waistcoat, must be the first garments to go; it is condemned by the party as ugly and unnecessary. "Its worthlessness," states the memorandum, "is revealed by the fact that it is the only male garment which women will not imitate. Next time you visit your tailor tell him you do not want a vest made, and you will get your suit half a guinea cheaper."
