FOGS ON THAMES
ALL SHIPPING HELD UP. VESSEL SHORT OF WATER. (Press Association. —Copyright.) (Received 9.55 a.m.) London, December 5. The Orient liner Orvieto, was compelled to anchor oif Thames Haven early yesterday owing to a thick fog and is still anchored after 30 hours. The vessel is likely to be held up at least another day longer. All Thames shipping has been stopped for forty hours, while passenger and cargo steamers are unable to proceed up the river. A cluster is anchored in groups at the Thames mouth, bleating sirens and ringing bells.
The cross-channel steamer Flamand sent a wireless message that she is short of water and asked that some be sent promptly, but the water boat was unable to find her.
