THE RAGWORT PEST.
GOVERNMENT'S INTEREST. ANOTHER WAIKATO INSPECTOR. Recently the Waikato Farmers' Union urged the Government to take wider measures Ho check the spread of ragwort. In a letter read at an executive meeting recently the Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Agriculture, replied that the question of the eradication of ragwort was one to which the Department was fully alive and close attention to the matter would be given by the inspectors. An additional inspector was being transferred to the Waikato- with a view to having closer inspection carried out this season. The letter was received, satisfaction at the reply, being expressed.
