The Paris correspondent of the Daily Chronicle states that in spite of Signor Mussolini's optimistic speeches, it has been learned that the economic situation in Italy is causing anxiety. Three, large and well-known provincial banks have become bankrupt within a fortnight; the year's working on the railways is unfavourable; and, in spite of the campaign of propaganda for increased production, the maize harvest has shown a reduction of 25 per cent., rice 9 per cent, and potatoes 26 per. cent.
