Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson ana Co., Ltd., report as follows on VVednesdav’s Johnson.ville sale: —A full yarding of sheep*, bullocks and lambs came forward to a full attendance of butchers. The sale was keen throughout, all prices being well in advance of til© previous week’s quotations. V> o quote:— .. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., replort having received the following cablegram from their Loudon house dated 13tli inst.: — Wool Sales.—The London sales have closed. Competition fairly animated, attendance moderate, the price is not the highest point of series owing to prolongation of sales to fourth week. As a result of fogs, and spot orders being largely filled, the market is less i animated than earlier in the series. French principal operators for fine, Horn© trade buyers operating freely for suitable merinos and crossbreds. As compared with closing rates of last series:— Scoured merinos, medium to good, par to Id higher; do inferior, lid to 2£d higher, do faulty, lid to 2£d higher; greasy merinos, Id to lid higher; greasy halfbred, lid to 2d higher; greasy crossbred, medium, lid to 2d higher; do coarse, Id to lid hig|her; scoured crossbred, lid to 2jd higher; slipes, lid to' 2d higher; greasy lambs, lid to 2d higher. Offered, 121,000 bales. Continent have bought 57,000 bales. Home trade bought 47,000; America 2000 hales. Carried forward 14,000 bales, of which 3500 bales were not offered.
