FROM A WOMAN'S ARMCHAIR.
It isn't the frame that matters, it's the picture within. Big. art demands a big atmosphere. A big atmosphere demands a big heart. If you can generously pass on to anojther mind the idea you have conceived, being honestly convinced that in the other mind it will flower to fairer beauty or richer usefulness, you have the seeds of true greatness within you. Compromise is an excellent thing; often the only possible thing; but beware lest behind the habit of perpetual compromise lies cowardly indifference; not kindly tolerance. Home life is made up largely of the little things. Little moments; little joys And unless we can build them into the beautiful mosaic of everyday happiness, patiently, tenderly, and with smiling skill, home will be but a roof with four walls. There is one sure way to find your o-neatest self; to lose your lesser sell m the work you love. Look for that work if you have not found it. There is no more portent agent of unhappiness than uncongenial work. "Work, said George Sarids, "is salvation, but it is the salvation only of string souls." That isfto say, of souls strong enough to press forward until thoy find the work that will bring out the best in them.
