TOWN CLERK DISMISSED.
REFUSAL TO WITHDRAW STATE-
MENTS.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Hamilton, this day.
The Borough Council decided last night to dispense with the services of Mr E. Davey, town clerk, and gave him three months' salary. The matter arose out of a letter circularised by Mr Davey making allegations against councillors, following a report by an investigation committee advocating the appointment of a comptroller for the Borough. Mr Davey was asked to withdraw the statements but refused, with the above result.
