Sir George Fuller, the Premier, denies Mr Cocks’ reported appointment as Agent-General for New South Wales. He says the matter has not yet come before the Cabinet Mr jCocks also states that the report is ONE THOUSAND IMMIGRANTS. FROM EUROPEAN COUNTRIES (Received 11.25 a.m.) Perth, this day. 'Carrying nearly a thousand passengers from almost every European country, the French steamer Cephee has arrived at Fremantle. Several foreigners were prevented from landing under the new regulations, which require that each passenger shall possess at least £lO.
