AUCKLAND WOOL SALES.
VALUES MAINTAINED. GOOD KING COUNTRY PRICES. An average price of approximately £35 a bale was realised at the Auckland wool sale on Friday, when 18,892 bales were offered to a record bench of buyers from all parts of the world. The major portion of the wool offered was crossbred, which soid at the level of the Christchurch sale, some of stronger lots commanding even better values. Mr D. Kennedy, manager of Messrs Dnlgety and Co.’s local branch, who has just returned from the sale, told a Chronicle reporter that, though there were many buyers attending, the bulk of the bidding was done by about four men. The sale finished stronger than it commenced and values were fully maintained. As to the future, the position was statistically sound, and lie believed that unless there was an unforeseen upheaval present prices would be maintained. Buyers were very anxious to get wool.
