Major L. P. Havijand. Sir Charles Fergusson's military secretary, arrived in Wellington ein Tuesday. Major Ha Vila ud. belongs to the Indian Cavalry. Sir Charles Forgusson arrives the week after next. The Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey) returned to Wellington on Monday. Though benefiting from bis rest, Mr Massey is not yet lit for work, and does not contemplate resuming his official routine for some days. At the annual examination for prolieienoy this week, Margaret Dooley, of the Convent School, secured 100 per cent for essay writing and received special praise from the inspector. At the special N.Z. University examination for accountancy, held in Wellington a few weeks ago, Joseph Dudley, of Te Kfaili, passed in all subjects.
