RAILWAY BALL.

A SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. The Municipal Hall was the scene of a particularly successful function last night, when the Te Kuiti railwaymen, held their first annual ball. The organisation was carried out by that very useful body, the Railway Social Club, and left nothing to be desired. The decorations consisted of beautiful nikau palms, pungas, coloured streamers and flags, and with the floor in perfect condition for dancing, the 120 dancers spent a most enjoyable evening. The music of Messrs Asplin (piano), Anderson (violin), and North (cornet) brought forth much favourable comment, as also did the catering of Messrs McPherson Bros. A hardworking committee of ladies and gentlemen did their utmost to provide for the enjoyment of patrons, and it is hoped that last night's gathering will be the forerunner of many equally successful annual gatherings.
