The deatli is announced of Mr K P. Greville, Commissioner of Crown Lands for North Auckland.
Mr W. C. MacGregor, the wellknown solicitor, formerly of .Dunedin, but now residing in Wellington, has been appointed a, Judge of the Supreme Court.
Mr R. M. Somerville has returned from a visit to Wellington in connection with the legislation enacting the Dairy Control Bill.
The Hon. T. M. Wilford, Leader of the Opposition, and Mrs Wilford left Wellington yesterday on a trip to Singapore and Japan.
Mr Thomas Lisle, who has been chief organiser of the Reform Party for many years, is temporarily retiring from politics, and has relinquished his position.
Mr R. D. Long, who has been conducting some interesting experiments in radio "broadcasting" in Te Kuiti, left for Auckland this morning, and will return on Monday.
The death of Mrs Tamate Waaka took place at the Rewatu pa, Whakatane, yesterday. A tangi is being held by a very large gathering of natives. The deceased was considered to be one of the last of the oldtime rangatiras.
Messrs John Charles, Nattle Grigg, James Simon Jessep, and William Perry have been representatives of Perry have been appointed representatives of the producers of meat for export on the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board as constituted under the Meat Control Act, 1921-22.
Mr J. A.' Buckley, a popular member of the locomotive branch, Te Kuiti, has received notice of transfer to Frankton at an early dale. Mr Buckley has been a prominent member in local railway matters, and will be greatly missed by his Te Kuiti friends.
