SPANISH ROYAL FAMILY.
Rumours have been current here and abroad concerning the health of the Prince of the Asturias, the 16-years-old son of King Alfonso and the Heir Apparent to the Spanish throne.
The truth is that the Prince's health has never been satisfactory and he is suffering from a complaint of the spinal marrow which makes walking impossible. His health naturally greatly pre-occupies-King Alfonso and the Government, especially as the King's second son, the Infante Barnes, suffers from congenital deafness and an impediment of speech. The Heir Apparent therefore will have to be the King's fifth child, the Infante Kohn, aged 10, unless the Prince of the Asturias recovers.
The. matter, of course, is kept secret as much as possible. The King and Queen Victoria will not leave Madrid this summer, and their visits to France and Britain have been abandoned.
