MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

NATIVES FINED. At the Magistrate’s Court this morning, before Mr F. W. Platts, S.M., several natives were fined for breaches of the law relating to the illicit introduction of liquor into a proclaimed area.

Tangi Kara, Peter Heta, Tuhi Tapara, and B. Brown, for assisting, counselling and procuring the commission of an offence by a pakelia., against Section 43 of the Licensing Act, were each fined £3 and costs. DANGEROUS DRIVING. For driving a motor car at a dangerous speed in Rora Street on August 9th, Tuhelca Hetet was fined £3, and 19s costs. OARS WITHOUT LIGHTS. Charles Kerr and Andrew Robson were each convicted and fined 10s and costs for driving without lights. COUNTY BY-LAWS. John Boddie was convicted and fined 10s and costs for driving an insufficiently tyred vehicle on the Mangarino Road, in contravention of the county by-laws.
