Mr C. K. Wilson returned from Wellington this morning on business connected with the Meat Producers’ Board.

Mr J. W. Muir has received word that he has been appointed borough electrical engineer at Palmerston North. General regret will be felt in the town at the impending departure of Mr Muir, who, apart from his efficient management of the local electrical plant, has always taken a keen interest in any matter affecting the welfare of the town and district.

Mr J. D. Vernon is in Hamilton today on business connected with the Supreme Court sessions.

Mrs E. Mackersey was a passenger to Tc Kuiti on last night’s Auckland express.

The Rev. J. M. Beaufort, who has been acting-vicar at the Holy Trinity Cl.urcli, Te Henui, for the past six months, during the absence in England of the Rev. G. T. Beale, left New Plymouth on Friday night to take "p his new appointment at Turua, Hauraki Plains. Prior to leaving Te Henui, Mr Beaufort was presented by his parishioners with a wallet of notes in recognition and appreciation of his ser- . vices.
