THE OTAKI MEETING. By 'Ribbonwood.' Tbe Otaki meeting takes place to-day and to-morrow. The payments are good and tbe fields will be on the large aide in most of the events. Tbe going is likely to be on tbe heavy side, and this will assist Volo and Bagdad in the Cup. Both horses came in for strong support during last week, and tbey were coupled with Play-off. The connections of the latter regard him as a moral for the short race if only be gets away on terms with the Geld, but be ba* been very bad at the barrier of late.

The uteful Tari will be a runner in the Flying Hack, and on his Tarataht form he read well, as he was on the bit the whole way. and his rider was pulling him up after going half a mile. On Auckland Easter form Korapai reads good in the Steeplechase. Several prominent jockeys have been trying to get the mount on the old fellow, which is a good «ign.

Pretty Bobby should continue his winning sequence in the mile hack race, and Jos. Grosser may supply the winner of the Maiden in Deacon, wbicb is a brother to Gold Soult, and goes pretty fast over a short eouwv.
